I am presently Consultant in Upper GI, Laparoscopic and General Surgery and Senior Visiting Clinical Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire I trained in the North West Thames rotation in London and have an interest in oesophageal cancer surgery alongside laparoscopic, General and Bariatric surgery. In brief I qualified from St Marys Hospital Medical School in London with a Bachelors Honours degree (BSc (Hons) in Chemical Pathology and MBBS in 1994. My basic surgical training was on the Hammersmith Hospital “SHO rotation” completing my FRCS (England & Ireland) examinations in December 1998 and February 2000. My Higher surgical Training was on the North West Thames rotation in London. Subsequently I embarked on 2 years of research at Lund University, Malmo University Hospital, Sweden. My research on Leukocyte endothelial interactions associated with colonic I/R was fully funded by The Royal College of Surgeons of England and I was awarded a PhD in Dec 2002. I was further awarded a Hunterian Professorship by the The Royal College of Surgeons of England in July 2007.
