Wei Zhang, M.D. graduated from Medical School of Wuhan University, and is currently a PHD candidate in the Diabetes Research Center at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Wei's research interests are typically focused on metabolic syndrome including insulin resistance, glucose toxicity, lipid metabolism, and gut microbiome in insulin resistance. Research papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals including -Diabetes, American Journal of Physiology- Endocrinology & Metabolism, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communicationss(BBRC), Journal of American College of Cardiology(JACC), and Peptides.
