I completed my M.B.B.S from Karnataka Institute of Medical sciences (KIMS), Hubli, India, which is a teaching and referral multidisciplinary 1000 bed hospital with facilities for postgraduate and higher training. Having scored top marks in state entrance for post graduation, I was rewarded with the opportunity to read for Masters of Surgery (M.S) in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at KIMS. This was a structured rotating residency program for ENT and Head & neck surgery. In United Kingdom after finishing basic surgical training I was awarded with MRCS degree by Royal College of Surgeons. I have published 3 case reports in peer-reviewed journals. I also carried out a several research projects and several medical audits. Throughout my training in UK, i was actively involved in research and presented several papers in surgical meetings at national level. After MRCS I worked as clinical fellow in head & neck cancer centre at St George’s hospital London, Where I developed my interest in oncology. I joined Internal Medicine residency program as a step forward to achieve my goal. I am presently working as Consultant physician in Internal Medicine at St Anthony Hospital and Medical canter, Crown Point, IN. I completed my residency from Mercy Hospital and Medical center and University of Illinois, Chicago in July 2010 and board certification in Aug 2010. I want to pursue my career in Haematology and Oncology in future. I am also starting research project on sickle cell anaemia along with Dr Robert Molokie at University Of Illinois at Chicago.
